You loved the technique from our Water Lily pattern, so we figured out how to do it in 8 sizes just for you! A slivering construction step takes a regular Lemoyne and allows you to make amazing spiked stars. You can substitute this great looking block for a Lemoyne in other patterns or even create new designs of your own. You should already be familiar with basic Lemoyne Star construction before trying this technique.

This creative interlocking design is created using two different unit sizes, which tricks the eye and makes you double-take to determine where your units really are in the quilt. Try making nine patches with non-traditional color placement reminiscent of an Irish chain in this quick and fun project.
