Bring your sewing machine and fabric to beautiful Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, for three days of sewing, instruction, and learning. Guided by Studio 180 Design Certified Instructors, you will create the Stormy Stars quilt.
Watch your stars sparkle and shine in Stormy Stars which finishes at 51” x 69”, making it an ideal throw-size quilt.
To complete this project, you will need the Studio 180 Design Stormy Stars pattern, as well as the Studio 180 Design tools: Diamond Rects and Square Squared. The Corner Pop tool is recommended but not required. These items will be available at the event or you can purchase them from your local quilt shop or the Studio 180 Design website.

Diamond Rects

Now you can make those tough elongated diamond units needed for any Storm at Sea project with ease and success. But remember, this is a basic unit that can combine with any of the other fundamental units to create many, many other interesting designs and quilt projects. You'll precision cut the center diamond, then sew on side triangles to create an oversized unit that you'll trim down to the perfect size.

Arizona Highlands

The Arizona Highlands is a picturesque area of our country, rich in Mother Nature's amazing colors Our quilt pattern pulls together shades of red and golds seen in the rock formations, as well as a greens seen in the large stands of trees and shrubs. You will use a number of our favorite tools to create the different block types and then add a smashing pieced border as a finishing touch. It is certain to become the focal point in any home decor.

Stormy Stars

Stormy Stars is the companion pattern for Marie Bostwick’s novel, The Promise Girls, making this the sixth collaborative work between Marie and Deb.
Construction of this quilt could be challenging just like the lives of the Promise Girls, yet with the aid of Studio 180 Design’s Diamond Rects and Square Squared tools, it’ll be smooth sailing when you dive right into this project! The placement of your dark, medium, and light fabrics will give you a striking quilt that looks like you spent hours piecing curves, when you only work with straight seams.

Sea Glass

We usually associate a Diamond Rectangle unit with a traditional Storm at Sea design, but think again! Sea Glass is a great example of what else you can do with this simple unit. Choose a focus print, pull some coordinating fabrics from your stash, mix everything together with a light and a dark and you're headed for a great looking quilt. As always, your units will be made oversized and then trimmed to perfection with the Diamond Rects tool.
