Deb was asked by the Vermont Quilt Festival to create a quilt for their 2014 Raffle. She wanted the design to be unique and different for that very special organization, and Starget was born. She hadn’t planned on writing a pattern for it, but there were so many requests she just couldn’t let her customers down! Starget uses 4 different tools, and while each of the units is easy to make, some of the units have several color combinations so organization is key. If you pay a little bit of attention and follow Deb’s tips for organization you ‘ll have a beautiful quilt that’s well worth the effort!

With an additional light, medium and dark fabric, you’ll have all the fabric you need to make this beauty. All these difficult looking blocks and border triangles are made with Deb’s streamlined strip piecing techniques and foolproof precision trimming with her Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool. A king size version of the Rangeley Wall Pattern, this project was fun to make with beautiful jewel toned fall fabrics and various light background bits and pieces. And the stars were EASY too! I love the illusion of interlocking frames around the star blocks in my Links quilt. This pattern is written with two different size options. The smaller, twin-sized version was featured in the Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Fons and Porter Love of Quilting. Since then I have had so many requests for a larger size that I decided to include a queen-sized version in the pattern. One of my favorite things about this design is that it looks hard...but isn't!

Galaxy is a beautiful alternating block design using two types of blocks, one with a red star and one with a blue star. Because of the color placement and the different angles in the triangles, the interesting interlocking circles appear and the second star block disappears into the circles. It’s a fun optical illusion, easy to make and even easier to admire.

Deep in the Heart is the companion pattern for Marie Bostwick's novel, Between Heaven and Texas. It is the fourth collaborative work between Marie and Deb.
Just like Marie's character Mary Dell, this quilt is bigger than life! The Lone Star center (or the center plus the frame) could be a pretty quilt in its own right, but when you add those floating Lemoyne Stars around the edges, Deep in the Heart becomes a fantastic bed size quilt.
Not only that, but all the diamonds and stars are actually strip pieced so, other than the background pieces for the Lone Star, there are no Y seams required! Now that’s a “Yeehaw!” if I ever heard one!

This is a knockout quilt well worth the effort. Banded Lemoyne Stars alternate with simple chain blocks to give the center of this quilt a checkerboard effect. The unique asymmetrical design of Aurora will remind you of the Northern Lights and their undulating colors that dance across the sky. Two simple units create the Aurora design, and when you cut the centers for the Corner Beam units, the cutaways are used to create the side triangles of the V Block units. There are some cutaways left over, so a fun and easy bonus pattern called Twilight is also included in the pattern. It’s a great way to use up those extra pieces and have a fun bonus project to show for it!
