I love the illusion of interlocking frames around the star blocks in my Links quilt. This pattern is written with two different size options. The smaller, twin-sized version was featured in the Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Fons and Porter Love of Quilting. Since then I have had so many requests for a larger size that I decided to include a queen-sized version in the pattern. One of my favorite things about this design is that it looks hard...but isn't!

Hunter's Lodge

This project uses a collection of fat quarters (or scraps) in medium and light values to create the background and a strong accent color to create the stars. Using Deb’s Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star tool and technique it is easy, fast, and accurate. It would be an excellent project for flannel fabrics as well as traditional 100% quilter’s cotton fabrics.

Hot Flash

A terrific pattern that can be made with from a fabric stash! Simply choose strong light and strong dark fabrics and add a terrific couple of tools and you’re on your way toward making this spectacular quilt. Deb’s Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star tool and techniques were used to make the center and her Tucker Trimmer 1 tool to make the pieced border. Much simpler to sew than you might think!

Grand Illusion

Do you think this looks like a tricky quilt? You might think so, but that's the Grand Illusion! It's a cinch! The blocks and sashing in this amazing quilt are put together so it looks like the blocks are set on point. But they aren't! You’ll use Studio 180 Design’s Tucker Trimmer 1, Square Squared, and Corner Pop tools to create this simple yet complex looking quilt.

Galaxy

Galaxy is a beautiful alternating block design using two types of blocks, one with a red star and one with a blue star. Because of the color placement and the different angles in the triangles, the interesting interlocking circles appear and the second star block disappears into the circles. It’s a fun optical illusion, easy to make and even easier to admire.

Deep in the Heart

Deep in the Heart is the companion pattern for Marie Bostwick's novel, Between Heaven and Texas. It is the fourth collaborative work between Marie and Deb.
Just like Marie's character Mary Dell, this quilt is bigger than life! The Lone Star center (or the center plus the frame) could be a pretty quilt in its own right, but when you add those floating Lemoyne Stars around the edges, Deep in the Heart becomes a fantastic bed size quilt.
Not only that, but all the diamonds and stars are actually strip pieced so, other than the background pieces for the Lone Star, there are no Y seams required! Now that’s a “Yeehaw!” if I ever heard one!

Bands of Glory

This is a knockout quilt well worth the effort. Banded Lemoyne Stars alternate with simple chain blocks to give the center of this quilt a checkerboard effect. More stars are clustered in the corners of the borders to add extra polish. This quilt is certain to be a prized possession for any lucky recipient.
