I love the illusion of interlocking frames around the star blocks in my Links quilt. This pattern is written with two different size options. The smaller, twin-sized version was featured in the Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Fons and Porter Love of Quilting. Since then I have had so many requests for a larger size that I decided to include a queen-sized version in the pattern. One of my favorite things about this design is that it looks hard...but isn't!

A terrific pattern that can be made with from a fabric stash! Simply choose strong light and strong dark fabrics and add a terrific couple of tools and you’re on your way toward making this spectacular quilt. Deb’s Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star tool and techniques were used to make the center and her Tucker Trimmer 1 tool to make the pieced border. Much simpler to sew than you might think!

Do you think this looks like a tricky quilt? You might think so, but that's the Grand Illusion! It's a cinch! The blocks and sashing in this amazing quilt are put together so it looks like the blocks are set on point. But they aren't! You’ll use Studio 180 Design’s Tucker Trimmer 1, Square Squared, and Corner Pop tools to create this simple yet complex looking quilt.

Another in the series of Marie Bostwick and Deb Tucker collaborations, Garden Dance is a magnificent medallion quilt designed as a companion quilt to Marie's novel Ties That Bind. It includes some applique, plenty of piecework, and no stars! Something unusual for Deb and maybe for you, too. So, choose a focus fabric, some coordinating prints and have fun making your own Garden Dance project!

Galaxy is a beautiful alternating block design using two types of blocks, one with a red star and one with a blue star. Because of the color placement and the different angles in the triangles, the interesting interlocking circles appear and the second star block disappears into the circles. It’s a fun optical illusion, easy to make and even easier to admire.

Look at this beauty! Our friend, Pam Goggans, designed this quilt using the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool. She figured out how to use the tool to create the three star points within each star point to create a traditional Flying Swallows block. WOW! And, it's much easier than using traditional techniques! We loved this quilt so much, and there was so much buzz about it at Quilt Market and Festival this year, that we did something we've never done before: asked a designer to let us sell one of their patterns on our website! In case you don't recall, Pam is the very talented designer who came up with the process for Blazing Lemoynes that became our latest Technique Sheet for the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star. She also has a pattern for making a Carpenter's Wheel with your Lemoyne Star tool that's fantastic (you can purchase those through her website).

Finley’s Fence features playful rings of interwoven colors, made up of fat quarters, to create this modern play on an Irish Links quilt. This whimsical quilt comes together easily with the help of the Tucker Trimmer 1 and with Michelle’s inventive use of the Corner Pop tool the otherwise difficult angled/bias unit becomes tons of fun to make.

This is a really fun and easy scrap project, and I’d be willing to bet you’ve got just the perfect fabrics in your stash for this one! For each fan, you will use two rectangles and two squares, one that’s fun and colorful, and one in your background fabric. You’ll be amazed at how simple this quilt is to put together with the perfectly sized units you’ll get with your Split Rects and Tucker Trimmer tools!

Double Dutch includes two versions of an adorable little wall hanging or table topper that looks far more complicated to construct than it is. The centers of the Diamond Square units have been “fussy cut” using the window template on Deb’s Square Squared tool then the units stitched oversized and trimmed to perfection. All of the Flying Geese units are made quickly and easily with her Deb’s Wing Clipper 2 tool, again pieced oversized and trimmed for precision. Make yours in the same or similar fabrics or consider using a special photo or embroidered motif in place of the flowers.

Deep in the Heart is the companion pattern for Marie Bostwick's novel, Between Heaven and Texas. It is the fourth collaborative work between Marie and Deb.
Just like Marie's character Mary Dell, this quilt is bigger than life! The Lone Star center (or the center plus the frame) could be a pretty quilt in its own right, but when you add those floating Lemoyne Stars around the edges, Deep in the Heart becomes a fantastic bed size quilt.
Not only that, but all the diamonds and stars are actually strip pieced so, other than the background pieces for the Lone Star, there are no Y seams required! Now that’s a “Yeehaw!” if I ever heard one!
$ 12.40
This difficult looking pattern is a cinch using the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool and construction process. The units are strip pieced and assembled with no “Y” seams. Pieced units are trimmed for high precision so matching seams and keeping points becomes a snap! A fast and easy project with the right tool!

This is a knockout quilt well worth the effort. Banded Lemoyne Stars alternate with simple chain blocks to give the center of this quilt a checkerboard effect. More stars are clustered in the corners of the borders to add extra polish. This quilt is certain to be a prized possession for any lucky recipient.

Amusement is a fun and quirky quilt inspired by the Ferris Wheels found on the Amusement Piers in NJ, where Michelle grew up. Ferris Wheels are enjoyed by so many of us, just like this quilt will be for the quilter making it and the recipient receiving it.

This creative variation of the Shaded Four Patch is easily constructed using basic squares and rectangles. In the Shaded Four Patch unit you have a plain square in the corner, but Flock of Birds replaces it with a pieced square, creating a fun new take on the classic unit! So bust out those Tucker Trimmer IIs and IIIs, consult the convenient Flock of Birds chart, and go with the flock!

Add a little twist to your log cabin blocks with the Curved Log Cabin technique sheet! The block is made up of one center square with a series of narrow and wide logs sewn around the center square. Sounds easy, but if you have ever tried to make them, you know that it is tough to get them to come out the way you want them - nice and square. Our technique has you strip piece each round of oversized logs, then trim with the Tucker Trimmer III, which allows you to straighten up those edges before you sew the next round. You will make every block quickly, easily, and accurately.

Quilters love log cabin blocks. A Log Cabin block consists of a center square with a series of "logs" sewn around all four sides of the square. Sounds easy, but anyone who has tried to make them knows they are a challenge to get sized perfectly. Our technique has you strip piece each round of oversized logs, then trim after each round and once again at the end. The final trim assures your finished block is the correct size. A beloved technique made even better. What’s not to love!

The Triangle Pizazz unit is a variation of the Shaded 4 Patch. It can be constructed as identical units to make pinwheels and bow ties, or as mirror image units to create star points as well as other unique creations. This process is invaluable when you're making pinwheels or any block for your quilt in which you want all the blocks to "spin" the same direction. And just like all of our other techniques, the units are made slightly oversized so you'll be able to trim them down to perfection using the Tucker Trimmer.
