Looking for something a little unusual? Try Arabesque! The pattern combines a very simple block with four patches in the corners to create curvy chains that snake between the staggered blocks. Nothing’s set on point, although it looks like it might be, so no setting triangles to struggle with either. Have fun watching the design come to life as you lay out the blocks and stitch together this unique quilt.

This is a knockout quilt well worth the effort. Banded Lemoyne Stars alternate with simple chain blocks to give the center of this quilt a checkerboard effect. More stars are clustered in the corners of the borders to add extra polish. This quilt is certain to be a prized possession for any lucky recipient.

Combining Corner Beam Units with Uneven Chain Units creates the illusion of a quilt made on point. Adding an accent fabric and a properly placed dark fabric helps to create a wonderful beaded effect on this quilt. This is a great project to use some of your fat quarters for the lap and queen size quilts. Make it scrappy or make it “planned scrappy”; either way the effect will be dazzling.
Designed by Sarah Furrer.

Pretty flowers and huge thorns is what we saw when we first looked at this design, so the name could only be Bougainvillea! You’ll have fun working with this planned color scheme, making big blocks, and then adding more interest by double popping the corners to create something really unique.

A fast, easy project using the Tucker Trimmer 1 tool for all those “hourglass units”. Deb’s method and ruler will give each quilter accurate units and great looking points every time. Fun introductory project for the Tucker Trimmer tool.

Create the look of curves with just straight line piecing. Careful fabric placement will enhance the illusion of interlocking rings and curves. Construct the units oversized and use the Wedge Star™ tool to trim, so you don't struggle to make the blocks. An addicting process with endless variations. This pattern can also be adapted to 10” precut squares.

Using your favorite fabrics and your Tucker Trimmer® III, you can create this dynamic quilt. We recommend that as you pick your fabrics, you pair each dark fabric with a medium fabric in the same color. For example, a dark green and a medium green, a dark blue and a medium blue, etc. This will allow you to create a dynamic, attractive quilt just as we did with the cover project! With 5 different layout options available you have lots of great options with just this one pattern.

This difficult looking pattern is a cinch using the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool and construction process. The units are strip pieced and assembled with no “Y” seams. Pieced units are trimmed for high precision so matching seams and keeping points becomes a snap! A fast and easy project with the right tool!

Add a little twist to your log cabin blocks with the Curved Log Cabin technique sheet! The block is made up of one center square with a series of narrow and wide logs sewn around the center square. Sounds easy, but if you have ever tried to make them, you know that it is tough to get them to come out the way you want them - nice and square. Our technique has you strip piece each round of oversized logs, then trim with the Tucker Trimmer III, which allows you to straighten up those edges before you sew the next round. You will make every block quickly, easily, and accurately.

An unbelievable quilt that is certain to be a showstopper. The Wedge Star™ tool is used to create three simple block types that, when combined, give the illusion of curves connecting stars and star points. The intricate design looks difficult, but is easy for all since, like all Studio 180 Design techniques, oversizing and trimming are part of the construction process. Do not hesitate to give this pattern a try. You’ll amaze yourself and others with the results.

My Cyclone Technique Sheet combines strip piecing and the Tucker Trimmer to give you a block that'll blow you away. It's a block that's very different from the typical units you make with your Tucker Trimmer 3, and you'll be amazed at how quickly and easily it comes together. If you're ready for a departure into something different, give Cyclone a try!

Deep in the Heart is the companion pattern for Marie Bostwick's novel, Between Heaven and Texas. It is the fourth collaborative work between Marie and Deb.
Just like Marie's character Mary Dell, this quilt is bigger than life! The Lone Star center (or the center plus the frame) could be a pretty quilt in its own right, but when you add those floating Lemoyne Stars around the edges, Deep in the Heart becomes a fantastic bed size quilt.
Not only that, but all the diamonds and stars are actually strip pieced so, other than the background pieces for the Lone Star, there are no Y seams required! Now that’s a “Yeehaw!” if I ever heard one!
$ 12.40
Try taking a different perspective on making diamonds! You use your Tucker Trimmer® I and Corner Pop® II to make diamonds in an unusual way. By popping the corners of Shaded Four Patch units and pairing them with regular Shaded Four Patch units, you get a unique and modern quilt with lots of space for custom quilting. We hope you enjoy making this quilt that has you seeing things from a different perspective.

Double Dutch includes two versions of an adorable little wall hanging or table topper that looks far more complicated to construct than it is. The centers of the Diamond Square units have been “fussy cut” using the window template on Deb’s Square Squared tool then the units stitched oversized and trimmed to perfection. All of the Flying Geese units are made quickly and easily with her Deb’s Wing Clipper 2 tool, again pieced oversized and trimmed for precision. Make yours in the same or similar fabrics or consider using a special photo or embroidered motif in place of the flowers.

My Doves of Hope project is a twist on a traditional block titled Dove in the Window. I actually nestled a small dove block inside a large dove block to create a quarter section for each 19½” block. Add sashing and cornerstones to those quarter sections and you have a great, interesting block. Put it on point, and that Dove really soars!

Tucker Trimmer to the rescue! When you've got a bunch of half square triangles to make, this is the technique for you. Using the the Eight at Once Technique Sheet, you'll be able to make eight half square triangles at a time. Like with all of Deb’s Techniques your half square triangles will be slightly oversized after you are done sewing and pressing so that you can trim them down with your handy dandy Tucker Trimmer.
$ 29.50
The Eighth Inch Tucker Trimmer trims down 13 different unit sizes in ⅛”, ⅜”, ⅝” and ⅞” increments. For all the times when you just have to trim to an ⅛” increment. Use it to quickly and accurately trim down units that are made with triangles: half square triangle squares, quarter square triangle squares (hourglass units), and combinations of half square and quarter square triangle squares (combination units). It has multiple diagonals which allow you to align ruler guide lines with unit seam lines to quickly locate the exact center of pieced units. This makes unit construction easy, precise and perfect every time and it’s also handy for cutting those ⅛” squares from strips.
It is compact, simple to read, and provides the same great results you've come to expect from all Studio 180 Design tools. It is the perfect tool for those who prefer to make quilts using smaller units!

Finley’s Fence features playful rings of interwoven colors, made up of fat quarters, to create this modern play on an Irish Links quilt. This exciting design includes an unexpected feature – the addition of Hunter’s Star blocks around an interesting, more traditional style block. Generally, a Hunter’s Star block is used only with other Hunter’s Star blocks in a quilt, but we love the way Sarah has added them here for an unusual and interesting twist, and we think many of you will too. The limited number of fabrics and careful color placement create a variety of secondary patterns that really come to life in this design. We hope that you have as much fun making this quilt as we did.

This creative variation of the Shaded Four Patch is easily constructed using basic squares and rectangles. In the Shaded Four Patch unit you have a plain square in the corner, but Flock of Birds replaces it with a pieced square, creating a fun new take on the classic unit! So bust out those Tucker Trimmer IIs and IIIs, consult the convenient Flock of Birds chart, and go with the flock!

Look at this beauty! Our friend, Pam Goggans, designed this quilt using the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool. She figured out how to use the tool to create the three star points within each star point to create a traditional Flying Swallows block. WOW! And, it's much easier than using traditional techniques! We loved this quilt so much, and there was so much buzz about it at Quilt Market and Festival this year, that we did something we've never done before: asked a designer to let us sell one of their patterns on our website! In case you don't recall, Pam is the very talented designer who came up with the process for Blazing Lemoynes that became our latest Technique Sheet for the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star. She also has a pattern for making a Carpenter's Wheel with your Lemoyne Star tool that's fantastic (you can purchase those through her website).

Galaxy is a beautiful alternating block design using two types of blocks, one with a red star and one with a blue star. Because of the color placement and the different angles in the triangles, the interesting interlocking circles appear and the second star block disappears into the circles. It’s a fun optical illusion, easy to make and even easier to admire.

Another in the series of Marie Bostwick and Deb Tucker collaborations, Garden Dance is a magnificent medallion quilt designed as a companion quilt to Marie's novel Ties That Bind. It includes some applique, plenty of piecework, and no stars! Something unusual for Deb and maybe for you, too. So, choose a focus fabric, some coordinating prints and have fun making your own Garden Dance project!

What a fun use of the Wing Clipper and Tucker Trimmer! Start with a simple square, add logs, trim the corner, and repeat. There’s a bit of oversizing and trimming down thrown in to keep your block perfectly sized. You’ll find loads of uses for this simple-to-make yet complicated looking block, and you'll be amazed at the possible variations!

Do you think this looks like a tricky quilt? You might think so, but that's the Grand Illusion! It's a cinch! The blocks and sashing in this amazing quilt are put together so it looks like the blocks are set on point. But they aren't! You’ll use Studio 180 Design’s Tucker Trimmer 1, Square Squared, and Corner Pop tools to create this simple yet complex looking quilt.

I love the illusion of interlocking frames around the star blocks in my Links quilt. This pattern is written with two different size options. The smaller, twin-sized version was featured in the Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Fons and Porter Love of Quilting. Since then I have had so many requests for a larger size that I decided to include a queen-sized version in the pattern. One of my favorite things about this design is that it looks hard...but isn't!

The Non Mirror Image Combo Units Technique Sheet (phew, what a mouthful that name is!) shows you the process to make four identical combination units all at once. This process is invaluable when you're making pinwheels or any block for your quilt in which you want all the blocks to "spin" the same direction. And just like all of our other techniques, the units are made slightly oversized so you'll be able to trim them down to perfection using the Tucker Trimmer.
