We know many of you have been looking for a larger Square Squared tool to make big Diamond Square units for your modern quilts or for framing your beautiful embroidery. But what would you say if we told you could also use it to make Stacked Squares (like in Storm at Sea), Pineapple Blocks, Snail’s Trail Blocks, and a fancy version of a Flying Goose we’re calling Birds of Paradise? With all this, we know you’re itching to give it a try!
This big, versatile, two piece tool set comes with the basic instructions for making Diamond Square units that finish from 1” up to 12” in whole inch increments. You'll want to keep your eyes open, too, because we’ll be introducing patterns and technique sheets for the additional techniques and blocks as they become available.

Finally a tool that simplifies the construction of the Diamond Square unit without having to use paper foundation piecing. The Square Squared is an all-in-one tool that gives you a window template for accurately cutting the center square, a chart printed right on the ruler for the recommended size to cut the triangles sewn to the four sides of the center square and a trim down section on the ruler that simplifies the alignment of ruler to fabric unit and allows everyone to clean up the unit to a precise measurement every time. You can see the tool demonstrated on our free online video demonstration (see below, also on YouTube). This unit is a tricky one to get accurate, but with the Square Squared tool and technique of oversizing and trimming down you’ll have far better success than with any other product on the market.

Stormy Stars is the companion pattern for Marie Bostwick’s novel, The Promise Girls, making this the sixth collaborative work between Marie and Deb.
Construction of this quilt could be challenging just like the lives of the Promise Girls, yet with the aid of Studio 180 Design’s Diamond Rects and Square Squared tools, it’ll be smooth sailing when you dive right into this project! The placement of your dark, medium, and light fabrics will give you a striking quilt that looks like you spent hours piecing curves, when you only work with straight seams.
