Is it diamonds or pearls that are a girl’s best friend? Well, why not both! Use the Split Rects tool to make faceted diamonds that intermix with pearl-like Square Squared units to create elegant strands of diamonds and pearls across your quilt top. The pattern is designed to work with precuts, so your quilt will be loaded with color variations.

On the beach, at night, waves crashing, music on the breeze . . . enjoy the rhythm of the islands with our Calypso pattern! Using a combination of three different Studio 180 Design tools, you’ll be making a variety of different units as you build the four Calypso blocks. Then you too can capture the motion of the ocean with the gently undulating color blocking that makes this such a compelling pattern.

This incredibly snazzy quilt was designed by Pam Goggans of Sager Creek Quilts & Yarnworks and is constructed using only Split Rectangle units! The pattern emerges with the combination of scrappy left and right slanting units strategically placed to create the large diamonds. And for a little extra bit of extra pizzazz some of the Split Rectangles units have double diagonal seams to add a dark pop of color to the diamond centers. Using the Split Rects you will have great success with the fun and interesting design.
