We love fancy diamonds and bet you do too, so thought we would add them to our Star 60 units. You can make this variation in 17 unit sizes, from 2” up to 18” in 1” increments. If you are making those units into stars, that would be 4” to 36” stars in 2” increments. This technique is a bit of a challenge but what a result!

We love using this simple unit to add additional interest to Star 60 designs. This is a great, easy to construct, basic unit that we are using more and more as we continue to work with the Star 60® tool. The unit you make with this technique sheet is sized the same way as the Star 60 unit, so if you want your Capped 60 unit to match up with a 5” Star 60 unit, you’d make a 5” Capped 60 unit.

Our Quad 60 Technique Sheet, a companion for the Star 60 tool, will add a fun new triangular unit to your bag of 60° piecework tricks! Each diamond is made up of two triangles, so when you add the side triangles you have four triangles in the unit. Now that’s sure to add some sizzle to your designs! Starting with an oversized strip piecing technique, followed by trim down steps using the Star 60 tool, you’ll be amazed at how quickly these units come together.

This pattern uses Framed 60 (Technique Sheet not required) units to create either a twin or king size quilt. The directions are the same for both sizes, you simply make the units larger for the king size. Putting seven Framed 60 blocks together makes it look like many petals coming together just like on its namesake flowers.
