Tranquility Collection and Lonesome Star

Welcome to the Tranquility blog hop. We are excited to introduce our latest original fabric collection created for Island Batik. This line features calming tjaps and soft, natural colors. You’re sure to find a favorite color and print within these soothing fabrics. Three of my Certified Instructors will be sharing their creations on their blogs, and at the end of the week you can enter to win a fat quarter bundle of the collection.

Today I’m going to share an old favorite remade with Tranquility. Lonesome Star designed by Kathie Beltz is from the book Hidden Treasures and uses the Petite Hunter’s Star tool.

Originally constructed using eight light fat quarters and eight dark, I chose to use one color for the light fabric. I used eight medium and dark fat quarters for the dark fabrics.

The greens, tans, and plums really stand out against the beautiful cream of the background. The subtle patterning on the light fabric adds dimension to this table/bed runner. I love to revisit favorite patterns and make them new again with special fabric. Do you have an old favorite that would look good in Tranquility?

Be sure to stop by the blogs of my Certified Instructors. Each one has created something special with this serene line. We think you’ll find some inspiration and maybe a pattern or two that sparks your creativity.

We have loved working with our Tranquility collection with Island Batik. The soft colors inspired by nature have made some beautiful quilts. Come back to our blog at the end of the week to see another remake of a loved favorite and for a giveaway. You can find Tranquility in shops this month and we’d love to see what you make.
