It's Day 2 of the Freedom Rings fabric collection debut. Today we have guest bloggers! Phyllis Fay and Beth Sidley of Tucker University are here to share their latest block of the month, Shining Glory. Read on to find out more about this beautiful quilt!

Beth Sidley designed Shining Glory, capitalizing on the variety of color values in the Freedom Rings collection to create multiple designs within one pattern.

The deep gold fabric was used in the larger Lemoyne Star blocks create a framework in each corner, while the medium blue stars which are constructed within the sashing pieces, create the sparkling touches.

There is a subtle linking block that creates a diamond visual in the center of the quilt that makes the pattern look as though it was set on point; however, it is not.

The deeper values are featured in the sampler blocks to make them pop out against the light background as if you are watching those fireworks on a wonderful summer evening.

Shining Glory is assembled as each of the blocks are finished.  This increases the quilter’s motivation to complete this project since they can watch it grow with each new block.

The sampler blocks incorporate most of the Freedom Rings fabric collection so that quilters get a nice variety of lights, mediums, and darks that make up the entire collection.

The border fabric features a print of stars to tie the entire theme of patriotism together.

Beth and Phyllis of Tucker University will begin teaching Shining Glory through their online courses on April 16,  2026.  Enroll today so that you can receive your supply list  to prepare for class.  Check out the details at www.tuckeruniversity.net.
