Have you ever wanted to make a block of the month quilt pattern but feel daunted by the prospect? We have four block of the month patterns available, designed to make large quilts easy to manage!
Each of these patterns designed by Deb are broken down into monthly units and blocks. They start with easier blocks and units and work their way up to the more intermediate blocks, making them great skill builders!
All of these patterns use multiple tools, but don’t worry if there is a tool or technique you haven’t done before. Deb is passionate about making our tools and patterns easy to use for all quilters, so we provide video tutorials for all of the tools used in these quilts. You can find all of our tutorials on our YouTube channel.
What’s our favorite thing about these patterns? They are assembled as you go! So no putting together lots of blocks at the end of the pattern. By the time you reach the final month, much of your quilt has already been assembled. No more unfinished projects laying around!
The first block of the month Deb designed was Journeys. This beautiful pattern was made as a companion piece for a novella from friend and author Marie Bostwick called Letters to PJ. It was reimagined later on in our soothing Tranquility line of fabric from Island Batik.
The first block of the month designed for one of our original fabric lines with Island Batik was Fair Isle. It features the stunning Bellingham Bay fabrics. Anyone who has followed Deb knows how much she loves the Lemoyne Star tool and that love is evident in this quilt!
The next fabric collection to feature a block of the month pattern was Modern Opulence. Autumn Splendor was designed with these rich hues in mind. One of the unique things about this pattern is the ability to choose your own adventure! Many of the blocks allow you to make the decision about what type of unit you’d like to use.
Our latest block of the month Jubilation was designed for our Chromatic fabric collection. A complete departure from some of the other patterns, Jubilation features just four tools. And while this gorgeous rainbow quilt looks as if it’s set on point, it’s actually assembled square, making it perfect for someone who is just learning the tools.
Do you have a favorite among these fantastic quilts? If you’ve wanted to try your hand at any one of them you can find them on our retail site. And be sure to follow our blog and social media for a brand new block of the month being released later this year!
